Who is Eric Ramos?

Eric Rodríguez Ramos, also known as Eric Ramos, is a European economist and podcaster. He produces and hosts The Eric Ramos Quest, in which he interviews guests with different and unique backgrounds with the intention to inspire and entertain his audience. These conversations explore the human nature through in-deep conversations. The show premiered on April 2, 2024 and it obtained positive feedback from a broad and global audience (mainly Europe and the Americas). The first episodes of the podcast were in Spanish, with subtitles in different languages including English. Eric is fluent in Spanish, English and Italian and he is currently improving his French.

'Be Quest!' is the slogan of the program and The Be Quest Community is the movement of people who support the show and who share the appetite for non-biased information, knowledge and entertainment.

Early life and education

Eric was born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain and grew up in Madrid. He obtained a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration in Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, a Laurea Specialistica in Banca, Impresa e Mercati Finanziari at Trento University, Italy, and a Banking Supervisor Diploma at CEMFI.

He studied civil service exams during several years for the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Finance and for the Bank of Spain. He then obtained a permanent position for the latter institution in 2009.

Professional experience before podcasting

At the Bank of Spain he has worked in the following 3 directorate generals and 1 associated directorate general: Market Operations, International Economics, Economics and Banking Supervision. He holds a Senior Banking supervisor position at Bank of Spain.

At the European Central Bank, in Frankfurt, he worked as Economist in the Monetary Policy Department, Monetary Policy Stance Division. He recently worked for the Single Resolution Board, an Agency of the European Commission in Brussels, where he was Member of different Resolution Teams as a National Expert. 

Eric is a statutory auditor registered in Spain (ROAC).

Personal life

Eric likes skiing, sailing, hiking, training, reading and having good conversations. At a young age he practised martial arts, climbing and football. He was trained as a parachuter by the Spanish Air Force. He began his professional life working during university summer breaks in the United Kingdom where he also attended English courses both in the UK and Ireland. He is married. He lives in Madrid, Spain, where the "set Zen" is located and the shooting of The Eric Ramos Quest takes place.
